A man in Indonesia was baffled to find a deformed baby shark, which "had a human face" and two large eyes under its snout, while he was out fishing Sunday.

Abdullah Nuren was on a fishing trip in Rote Ndao in East Nusa Tenggara when he found the strange-looking creature.

"I initially found a mother shark caught in the trawler net. The next day I split the belly of the mother shark and found three pups in the stomach. Two were like the mother and this one that looked like it had a human face," Nuren said, Times Now reported.

In the short clip shared on YouTube, the deformed creature is seen kept on top of a piece of cardboard, while a person points at its head and other body parts. Some users commented it looked like a soft toy or a lump of dough. However, its errieness shocked many others, including the fisherman who found it.

"My home has been crowded with people who want to see the shark. Many people want to buy it, but I will preserve it instead. I think it will bring me good luck," Nuren said.

There have been several instances in the past when fishermen or beachgoers have found weird looking sea creatures that have washed up on the shore. The images of these creatures have also baffled social media users.

Last year, a strange alien-looking creature was spotted off the coast of Australia. It was caught on video by a team of marine biologists during an underwater expedition. Experts said at the time that this could be the longest animal ever discovered.

The strange creature was later identified as a siphonophore, which appeared to look like a long white string floating in the sea.

“In a way, these specialized bodies function as organs,” marine biologist Stefan Siebert of Brown University told Wired at the time. “Some move the colony, some feed for the colony, some take care of reproduction.”
