KEY POINTS

  • Barack Obama and Donald Trump are tied as the most admired man in America
  • Barack Obama has been at the top spot for 12 years
  • Barack Obama and Donald Trump received a slew of criticisms following the release of Gallup's poll results

Barack Obama and Donald Trump have been named as the most admired men in America for 2019.

The ex-POTUS and the POTUS tied at the top spot with 18 percent of the votes tallied via the annual Gallup polls. Approximately 41 percent of Democrats chose Barack, while 45 percent of Republicans picked the president as their choice for the most admired man in the United States.

Independents were also split with 12 percent voting for Barack, while only 10 percent voted for Trump.

Barack’s wife, Michelle Obama, was named as the most admired woman of 2019 beating President Trump’s wife, Melania Trump, with only 11 percent of the votes.

But even though Barack and President Trump tied at the top spot of this year’s poll, the results may still be an upset for the POTUS. After all, this was the first time that he has ever been named as the most admired man in America.

Barack, on the other hand, has received recognition for the past 12 years.

After the poll results were released, Barack supporters and the POTUS’s supporters flocked to social media to share their thoughts on the matter.

“I’m sure Barack Obama is honored to share the title of most admired man in America with President Donald Trump. Don’t see why that would be a problem?! Unless… y’all trying to make out as if it could be a problem?” Twitter user @FunkyJazzMuso said.

“The MSM tries desperately to convince us that Obama is an American citizen, that Obama is not a Muslim, and that Michelle Obama is the most admired and beautiful he/she in America… It’s all lies,” Twitter user @tomtomkie said.

“How come Trump has become the most admired man in America? Lol. Who voted for him?” Twitter user @chi098762 said.

“How and why is Obama polling that high in the most admired man in America? Does anyone recall he’s the one who kept at war in 7 countries not to mention screwed up our whole health care system?” Twitter user @pfsdriver said.
