  • Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz and the rest of "The Batman" cast were spotted on set on Monday
  • This came after "The Batman's" release date was pushed back to 2022
  • "Batman" production was shut down for two weeks in September due to a positive COVID-19 test

"The Batman" has been pushed back to 2022, but production is continuing, with Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz and the rest of the cast all returning to the set on Monday.

New photos from the "Batman" set released by Us Weekly show Pattinson filming a scene with Kravitz, who was in character as Selina Kyle/Catwoman and looked fierce in a black trench coat, matching bow headpiece, fishnets and knee-high boots.

Filming a scene with them outside St. George's Hall in Liverpool, England, were John Turturro, who plays mob boss Carmine Falcone, and Colin Farrell. The latter looked unrecognizable on set as Oswald Cobblepot, also known as Batman's nemesis The Penguin.

On Sept. 17, the cast resumed filming two weeks after a shutdown that stemmed from a member of the production testing positive for the coronavirus. The person who was diagnosed underwent isolation, and the filming had been halted temporarily on Sept. 3.

No names were mentioned in the announcement from Warner Bros., but several outlets singled out Pattinson as the person who tested positive for the coronavirus. The "Twilight" actor and his rep never addressed the reports of his alleged COVID-19 diagnosis.

"Following a hiatus for COVID 19 quarantine precautions, filming has now resumed on ‘The Batman’ in the U.K.," a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Pictures said in a statement to Variety on Sept. 17.

"The Batman" was on its seventh week of production when filming had to be halted back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. At the time, the cast and crew still had three months' worth of material left to shoot. After resuming production on Sept. 1, the COVID-19 diagnosis resulted in an additional two-week delay.

Matt Reeves’ superhero flick was originally slated for release on Oct. 1, 2021, but "The Batman" will now be coming out on March 4, 2022, due to the production delays.

Pattinson was cast as Batman after Ben Affleck decided to step down from the role last year, though the latter will play Bruce Wayne one more time in Ezra Miller's 2022 superhero movie, "The Flash."

In February, Affleck was asked about Pattinson taking over the role, and the "Justice League" star appeared confident that the younger actor would be able to pull it off.

"I think Robert’s a great actor, he is going to do great," Affleck told Jake Hamilton in an interview posted on the latter's YouTube channel. "The movie deserves to be made by someone who’s dying to do it and cannot wait, and that was not me at the time, so I moved on."
