Video game company Electronic Arts (EA) has recently confirmed a lot of exciting details about "Battlefield 6," including the game announcement, it's timeline and release window.

The gaming studio also announced the next "Battlefield" title would launch on more gaming platforms than earlier speculated.

EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed during the company's earnings call Tuesday that "Battlefield 6" would be revealed in June. Unfortunately, the reveal's specific date was not mentioned, but more information drops in the coming months were teased.

At the same event, Wilson announced the team's plan to release the game on new generation consoles like Xbox Series X and PS5 and previous generation consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will launch on PC, as well.

"Battlefield will be available for both current-gen and next-gen as will our sports titles," Wilson said. Even though the game is being launched on many gaming platforms, the executive noted that "Battlefield 6" looks outstanding regardless of where it is being played.

He also particularly underlined new generation gaming consoles as being the most impressive of all platforms to play the game.

In the past, EA had mentioned "Battlefield 6" has been designed for next-generation gaming platforms, triggering speculations that it won't be available on previous generation consoles. However, Wilson explained, "the reference specifically from our prepared remarks, was around the nature of gameplay – what we can do with the fidelity of the game, what we can do with the physics, artificial intelligence, and the immersive nature of the game," Video Games Chronicle reported.

He further said, "And in the case of Battlefield, what we can do with respect to the amount of players that we can have in the game, and the nature of destruction and those all-new Battlefield moments that are truly next-gen opportunities that we are able to do in the context of our next-gen franchises because of the increased processing power and memory and output of the new consoles."

As for the game's release date, "Battlefield 6" is scheduled to release sometime in the company's third quarter of the current fiscal year. Fans can expect the game to be available at an undetermined date between October and December 2021.
