The Man of 'Man vs. Wild', “Bear Grylls, is all set to release an application for iPhone which will show users how to survive in hostile wildernesses.

The name of the application will be Bear Grylls: The Bear Essentials.

Grylls is trying to convert his outdoor survival skills into one, simple-to-use survival guide, using photos, videos, quizzes, quotes, illustrations and interactive tools. The goal was to nicely blend all the best, most functional aspects from my TV shows and books into an interactive instruction manual, and mobile tool kit all rolled into one, said Grylls.

He is eleated that he can, through a simple app, share all the outdoor and survival skills that he learnt from his time with the British Special Forces, the French Foreign Legion and the Scouts, and during countless expeditions into the wild, including the Himalayas.

This British outdoorsman has partnered with independent games publisher Chillingo that recently won Best Games Company at the Mobile Entertainment Awards to release the application.

We are very excited to bring this instructive, fun, and unique title to the iPhone and iPod Touch and share Bear's passionate expertise with his fans around the world who have been so eager to get hold of this app, said Chris Byatte, Chillingo's general manager.
