The gang from “The Big Bang Theory” is getting a second chance at prom in this week’s episode, titled “The Prom Equivalency.” In advance of the Nov. 6 premiere, CBS released an official plot synopsis for Season 8 episode 8.

“When the gang recreates a high school prom on the roof of the guys’ apartment building, Sheldon feels pressure to participate in all the typical romantic traditions.”

According to spoilers online, the prom do-over idea comes up when the girls exchange their prom stories. It’s quickly discovered that only Penny (Caley Cuoco-Sweeting) enjoyed herself at prom, while Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) each had different, yet equally miserable, experiences. The boys? They didn't even go to their proms.

“What kind of teenager did you think I was?” Penny asks in the video below.

“Easy,” replies Bernadette.

“Slutty?” Amy says.

“The word is ‘popular.’” Penny deadpans.

All grown up and each paired with a respective love interest, the girls pressure the boys to relive their prom night correctly. (Even if it is several years too late.)

In what CBS is calling its most romantic “Big Bang Theory” episode of the year, the group gets dressed up in tuxedoes and rent a limo so that they can each have the prom they always deserved. While this sounds like a fun time, it’s still a little difficult for some... mostly Sheldon (Jim Parsons).

The episode promises a sweet moment between Sheldon and Amy when he feels pressured to participate in the usual after-prom activities. Amy will reportedly talk him out of his anxiety, which will prompt Sheldon to reveal something about his feelings for her.

The episode is a can’t-miss for all true “Big Bang” fans. Check out the episode’s official promotional video below and prepare for the episode's premiere Thursday night at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
