On Father's Day, social media accounts for Bill Cosby sent out messages declaring that the comedian is still "America's favorite dad."

"Hey, Hey, Hey...It's America's Dad," reads a post from the official Twitter and Instagram accounts for "The Cosby Show" actor and executive producer. "I know it's late, but to all of the Dads... It's an honor to be called a Father, so let's make today a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose - strengthening our families and communities."

The message was followed by several hashtags, including "#HappyFathersDay" and "#RenewedOathToOurFamily." In a follow-up tweet, the imprisoned comedian included the hashtags "#FarFromFinished," "#RenewedOathToOurCommunity," and "#AmericasFavoriteDad."

A spokesperson for the comedian, Andrew Wyatt, told USA Today that Cosby, who is currently in prison on sexual assault charges, had requested someone post the Father's Day message on his behalf to show support for a group called Man Up.

"Mr. Cosby's (message) consisted of telling these men who have been incarcerated for many years, but are up for parole soon...to...take the word 'disadvantage' and remove the 'dis,' and start focusing on the advantage," Wyatt stated, adding, "That advantage is to be better fathers and productive citizens."

Cosby, 81, is currently behind bars in Pennsylvania serving a three to 10-year sentence after being convicted in 2018 for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand. The social media posts mark the first time there has been any Twitter and Instagram activity for Cosby since June 2 when the accounts marked the death of chef Leah Chase.
