Billie Eilish has become the latest musician to postpone her upcoming gigs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The singer was supposed to start the European leg of the “Where Do We Go?” world tour with a show in Spain in the month of July. Eilish confirmed the news of postponement on social media.

Taking it to Twitter, the 18-year-old musician announced that it is highly impossible for her to start the tour under current circumstances. The governments of various European countries have imposed strict guidelines on mass gatherings, and they are urging people to stay inside their homes to prevent the spread of the life-threatening disease.

The “Bad Guy” hitmaker further stated the decision has been made out of an “abundance of caution.” Eilish also revealed that all the dates are being rescheduled “proactively.”

“Out of an abundance of caution, all dates on Billie’s ‘WHERE DO WE GO?’ WORLD TOUR have been postponed. All dates are proactively being rescheduled,” Eilish wrote.

In a follow-up post, the four-time Grammy Award-winning artist explained that the new schedule will be announced as soon as the dates are finalized. She also said that the tickets that have already been purchased for the 2020 tour will be “honored” accordingly.

Eilish concluded her post by expressing gratitude toward the fans for “understanding” the situation, and she urged them to stay at home amid the pandemic.

“As soon as dates are finalized, Billie will share the updated schedule and all tickets will be honored accordingly. Thank you for understanding. Stay safe, and stay home,” Eilish wrote.

The European leg of the tour was all set to commence on July 9 in Spain and end on July 30 in London.

The news comes a couple of weeks after BTS announced that they would not be able to do their shows in Europe due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Another notable band that canceled all their upcoming shows was Bon Jovi. The “Livin’ On A Prayer” hitmaker expressed gratitude toward the fans for always being there for them and shared that it’s their turn to help them back. In a statement, the band members said that they are looking forward to performing again when the situation gets better.

The band was due to start its tour in June and the first show was scheduled to take place on June 10 in Tacoma, Washington.
