Billie Eilish has joined the list of celebrities who campaigned for justice for George Floyd.

Floyd’s death has pushed the Black Lives Matter movement once again into the spotlight. However, many reacted with dismay because they felt that those who campaigned for the black community disregarded all other people who aren’t black.

In response to the "all lives matter" discussion, the “Bad Guy” singer penned a letter that focuses on this issue and took to Instagram to share her thoughts.

She started her post by saying that she had been trying this week to figure out a way to address the matter delicately. She knew that she has an enormous platform and wanted to be respectful, so she took her time to think on what to say, but she decided say it anyway in her usual language.

“IF I HEAR ONE MORE WHITE PERSON SAY ‘aLL liVeS maTtEr’ ONE MORE F---ING TIME IM GONNA LOSE MY F---ING MIND,” she wrote.

Eilish pointed out that campaigning for black lives doesn’t mean that all other lives don’t matter. She reminded them that it’s not about them, so they should stop making everything about them because they are not in need and are out of danger.

She also used an analogy, saying that when one’s friend gets a cut on their arm, one will not put bandaid on everyone’s arms. Instead, that person will only help the friend who has a cut because they are in pain, in need and bleeding.

Also, if someone’s house is on fire, it would be unreasonable to have the fire department go to every other house because all houses matter. Several netizens also used this analogy on Twitter to counter the “all lives matter” argument.

“NO! BECAUSE THEY DONT F---ING NEED IT. YOU ARE PRIVILEGED WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. SOCIETY GIVES YOU PRIVILEGE JUST FOR BEING WHITE. YOU CAN BE POOR, YOU CAN BE STRUGGLING..AND STILL YOUR SKIN COLOR IS GIVING YOU MORE PRIVILEGE THAN YOU EVEN REALIZED,” she continued.

Eilish reminded white people that their skin doesn’t make them better than anyone, but it lets them live their lives without having to worry about surviving. Thus, she concluded, “YOU ARE PRIVILEGED!!”

“IF ALL LIVES MATTER WHY ARE BLACK PEOPLE KILLED FOR JUST BEING BLACK? WHY ARE IMMIGRANTS PERSECUTED?” she added

Eilish also pointed out why it seemed fine for white people to protest with semi-automatic weapons, but black people were called thugs. She provided one answer and said it’s about “privilege.”

She also reminded everyone that “white privilege” affects "Hispanic people, Native Americans and Asian people." She returns to her concern and insists that the slogan #BlackLivesMatter does not mean that other lives don’t matter. It was only used to call attention because society discredits the black community.

Eilish ended her post by repeating the words, “Black Lives Matter,” three times. She added, “SAY IT AGAIN. #justiceforgeorgefloyd.”

Meanwhile, Beyoncé has also called on her fans to support the different petitions seeking justice for Floyd.
