It was a special first wedding anniversary for Bindi Irwin and her husband, Chandler Powell, as the couple spent it welcoming their first child together—a baby girl with a special name that links to both of their families.

The new parents took to Instagram with the announcement that Grace Warrior Irwin Powell was born on March 25, the same date the couple tied the knot in 2020, and in a photo showing a blue onesie with a koala pictured on it, they shared she had arrived at 5:52 p.m., weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces and was 20 inches long. A second photo showed them holding their little girl together and gazing lovingly down at her.

The caption for the post also revealed the reason for their baby’s somewhat unique moniker.

“Our graceful warrior is the most beautiful light,” the 22-year-old “Crikey! It’s the Irwins” star wrote. “Grace is named after my great-grandmother, and relatives in Chandler’s family dating back to the 1700s.”

The middle names for the little girl also have a special meaning, which ties back to Bindi’s late father, Steve, who was known as “The Crocodile Hunter,” and died in 2006 following a stingray injury to the heart.

“Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior,” she shared.

“Her last name is Powell and she already has such a kind soul just like her dad. There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet baby girl. She chose the perfect day to be born and we feel tremendously blessed,” the caption also read.

The baby name also has other special meaning, with Behind The Name stating that Grace comes from the English word of the same name and that it was one of the virtue names created in the 17th century by the Puritans. As for Warrior, it means “A person engaged in battle or warfare, and by extension, anyone fighting for a particular cause.”

Fans quickly took to social media to congratulate the reality star and conservationist, and even praised the name and said her father would be proud.

The name isn’t the first time Irwin paid tribute to her father, as she also shared a picture of artwork featuring him at her wedding shortly before announcing her pregnancy last year, and fans were convinced that if she had a boy she would have named the child Steve in his honor.

She isn’t the only celebrity to welcome a baby girl in the last week, as “High School Musical” star Ashley Tisdale and her husband, Christopher French, welcomed their daughter, Jupiter Iris French, as well.
