The end is near. “Bones” Season 12, episode 11, the penultimate episode of the Fox series, ended on a crucial cliffhanger that resulted in Booth (David Boreanaz), Brennan (Emily Deschanel), Angela (Michaela Conlin) and Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) getting locked up in the lab before multiple bombs exploded inside the building. The Jeffersonian is now no more and fans are understandably worried about the fate of these four characters.

However, the episode wasn’t all grim. Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Arastoo (Pej Vahdat) finally tied the knot and Zack (Eric Millegan) was exonerated.

Should “Bones” fans be worried about the future of their favorite characters? “I [understand] if people are worried. But this is ‘Bones.’ Have faith,” the show’s co-showrunner Michael Peterson told TVLine. He also Entertainment Weekly, “Things are dire. They’re going to get worse before they get better. But ultimately, have faith. We will hopefully wrap it up in a way that’ll be satisfying. But hold on to your hats.”

The promo offers some spoilers on the characters that might have survived the explosion. In it, we see that Booth and Hodgins are fine even though they are bruised and bloody. However, Booth finds his wife unconscious. Is she going to make it out of this alive? The answer is a resounding yes. Not only is she alive but she helps Booth in tracking down the man responsible for setting off the bomb -- Mark Kovac.

Unfortunately, neither the promo nor the photos shows Angela. “Bones” revealed that Hodgins’ wife is pregnant. It seems unlikely though that the Fox show would kill off a pregnant woman. Perhaps she lost her baby?

The synopsis of the series finale, titled “The End In The End,” states that the Jeffersonian will search for evidence to find Kovac but without Brennan who has experienced a setback. Soon, all signs point to Kovac having outside help as well as a hideout so the team goes searching for his ally.
