Brad Pitt has addressed his on-screen kiss with Margot Robbie in "Babylon."

During the film's premiere in Los Angeles Thursday, Pitt, 58, set the record straight after Robbie previously revealed that their smooch was not part of the script and that she orchestrated it to make the best out of the "opportunity."

"No, not necessarily," Pitt told Entertainment Tonight when asked about Robbie taking creative liberty to kiss him. "There's always room for character interpretation."

The Oscar-winning actor then gushed over Robbie's performance in "Babylon," telling the outlet that she is "on fire" in the film that tells the story of how decadence, depravity and outrageous excess lead to the rise and fall of several ambitious dreamers in 1920s Hollywood.

"Believe me, that's the tamest thing she does in this," Pitt teased, referring to their on-screen kiss. "She's on fire on this. It's the best I've ever seen her."

In "Babylon," Pitt plays Jack Conrad, one of the biggest movie stars in the world. Robbie portrays Nellie LaRoy, an unpredictable up-and-coming starlet who wants to be famous.

Robbie spoke about their "improvised" kiss in her interview with E! News earlier this month.

"That wasn't in the script, but I thought, 'When else am I gonna get the chance to kiss Brad Pitt? I'm just gonna go for it,'" the Australian actress shared.

She admitted that she had to convince director Damien Chazelle to make it happen after the latter got the idea that she just wanted to kiss Pitt.

"I said, 'Damien, I think Nellie would just go up and kiss Jack.' Damien was like, 'Well, she could—wait, hold on. You just wanna kiss Brad Pitt,'" the 32-year-old explained. "I was like, 'Oh, so sue me. This opportunity might never come up again.' And [Chazelle] was like, 'It does work for the character,' and I was like, 'I think so.' He was like, 'No, do it again. That really works.' I was like, 'Oh, great.'"

Pitt and Robbie have worked on three movies together: "The Big Short" in 2015, "Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood" in 2019 and "Babylon." However, according to the "Barbie" star, they had never acted together until their most recent film.

"It's technically the third film we've appeared in together, and we've never acted together until this film," she told ET earlier this month. "So that was a wonderful gift... He's so, so wonderful. Watching Brad Pitt, the biggest movie star, play the biggest movie star it's just something like, inherently fun."

"Babylon" hits theaters on Dec. 23.
