Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reportedly get along better now after becoming legally single.

While the two have not yet finalized their divorce, Jolie and Pitt's request for a bifurcation back in August 2018 was recently approved by a judge, thus making them legally single again. The estranged couple seemed to have had a tense relationship since Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, but a source recently told Entertainment Tonight that the pair's relationship is "the best it's been since their split."

According to the insider, Jolie and Pitt are focusing their attention on their six children: Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 10. And it is their dedication to co-parenting that has eased some of the tension that had risen between them.

"To the surprise of many of their closest friends, their communication has improved tremendously and they're both dedicated to co-parenting," the source revealed.

Pitt and Jolie reportedly had "a lot of very hard feelings" toward each other that drew out the custody battle, but now, they "rarely argue." According to the insider, the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" co-stars could now set aside their differences and talk about their children's plans without fighting.

And while Pitt hasn't been seen with his children in public, the kids have reportedly been spending time with their dad since he and Jolie reached a custody agreement a few months ago.

"Their kids have a custody schedule and that's made a huge difference for the whole family," the insider explained. The schedule has alleviated any of the planning pressures Brad and Angelina have faced in the past. Now the kids spend time with both their parents and are happy and thriving."

As for why the two pushed for a bifurcation last year, certified family law specialist Steve Mindel, who is not involved in their case, speculated that it might be because both Pitt and Jolie are ready to move on with other people and would prefer to be single.

Mindel also dished to People magazine that "business issues" might have had something to do with their decision. For example, he noted that Jolie and Pitt could now file their taxes as "single" again despite not having finalized their divorce.
