The royal family: they’re just like us. It has been revealed how Britain’s royal Mountbatten-Windsor clan keeps up to date on each other’s lives and the topics they discuss when they are out of the public eye.

A cover-page spread in Life & Style Magazine’s Dec. 3 print edition gives an inside look into the royal family and shared how Queen Elizabeth II’s growing brood keeps in contact.

“The Windsor clan see themselves as, well, normal,” reads the report, revealing the family communicates with “group texts.” The existence of the royal group text was first confirmed in January.

Despite the family’s long list of public appearances, the family does try to get together on Sundays for lunch. In an effort to make organizing the frequent get-together, the group is said to use technology to their advantage. “Since everyone is so busy, they’ve set up a group text to make it easier to organize,” revealed the insider.

As for what the lunches entail, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, are said to take over the cooking duties. “The lunch isn’t as formal as you’d think. Kate and Meghan actually take turns putting their culinary skills to good use. They both whip up a fabulous meal of chicken or beef, Yorkshire pudding, and vegetables,” shared the source.

At said events, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, wife to the Queen’s eldest son Prince Charles, is said to have made jokes about the family on more than a few occasions. When she’s not cracking jokes about Charles’ “snoring” she’s been known to make “an entertaining comment about Queen Elizabeth II,” according to the report.

“Everyone finds it amusing to kind of poke fun at her,” said the source.

Members of the group also have alone time. As Meghan is gearing to expect her first baby with Prince Harry, the Duchess is reportedly spending her free time with sister-in-law Kate, who has three children of her own.

“They’ll catch up and talk babies over tea, sandwiches, and scones or spend hours together shopping for baby clothes online. If Kate comes across something adorable on her own, she’ll text Meghan the link to it, too,” a source told the magazine.
