A pop-up store for Netflix's "Squid Game" that opened in France over the weekend had to be closed after a brawl erupted outside of its premises.

The Korean show's dedicated store, which was scheduled to operate in Paris' Rue d'Alexandrie in the 2nd Arrondissement from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, generated a large crowd of fans at launch. However, it was forced to shut down after a physical fight broke outside of it, France 3 Paris Île-de-France, the regional news service, first reported.

Some of those who lined up for the pop-up store were disappointed as they were unable to enter the shop before it was closed, according to the outlet.

A 34-second video uploaded to Twitter Sunday showed at least two people fist-fighting on the street while being surrounded by a crowd, a report by Insider said.

Some of the people in the video can be seen attempting to pull the fighters away from each other before the two men were ultimately reeled in by security personnel.

The original tweet, which has around 1.5 million views and included the hashtags #SquidGame and #Netflix, reportedly claimed that there was a physical altercation at "the Squid Game." A follow-up video to the post showed police cars arriving at the scene.

A TikTok user who attended the event claimed the pop-up store was closed due to the brawl.

"After six hours and 20 minutes waiting in the rain... the event was canceled because of people fighting," the user wrote in a post.

The post, which became the top video for the hashtag #SquidGameParis, included footage of people outside the "Squid Game" pop-up store running away while others were fighting.

It was unclear what caused the brawl to start.

There was allegedly a 700-foot line to get into the store prior to the fight.

Both Netflix and the Paris Police Prefecture did not respond to a request for comment.

"Squid Game" is a violent survival Korean series that centers around a group of people stuck in debt and subjected to a number of deadly games in hopes of winning a massive cash prize at the end, as per Insider. It is currently the most popular title on Netflix and is set to become the online streamer's most-watched original production of all time.
