BTS' hit track "Dynamite" is now a certified "classic" after making it into the list of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

The group's first all-English song, written by David Stewart and Jessica Agombar, was at No. 346 on the list, which was updated after 17 years. Over 250 artists, writers and industry figures have contributed to Rolling Stone's latest list that details a wider roster of historic favorites and new classics.

"'Dynamite' was a landmark, hegemony-shattering moment for the world-conquering South Korean group," Rolling Stone said. "Their intertwined vocal talent, led by youthful standout Jung Kook, put over the track."

British producer and songwriter Stewart told Rolling Stone that Columbia Records, BTS' U.S. distributor, had searched for the perfect English cross-over hit for the group. "It had to have tempo, be exciting.… one thing I'm good at is writing to brief."

Soon after its release on Aug. 21, 2020, "Dynamite" became the most viewed YouTube video and most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours, according to Guinness World Records. "Dynamite" also spent 32 consecutive weeks on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 list.

The top spot on the Rolling Stone list went to "Respect" by Aretha Franklin. "Fight The Power" by Public Enemy was at No. 2 and "A Change Is Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke was at the third spot.

While the 2004 version of the list included more rock and soul tracks, the new list contains more hip-hop, modern country, indie rock, Latin pop, reggae and R&B, according to Rolling Stone.

BTS earlier landed a spot in the 2022 Guinness World Records Hall of Fame for breaking 23 records. The group's "Butter" alone broke the records for the most-viewed YouTube video by a Kpop Group (538 million); the most-viewed premiere of a video (3.9 million views) and the most-streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours (11.04 million).
