Video game developer Bungie confirmed “Destiny” game discs are being “pressed and packed” into crates ahead of the game’s launch on the PlayStation 4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 Sept. 9.

“The development of ‘Destiny’ has been a race with many milestones,” Bungie said on its blog. “All along the way, there was always a feeling that this team was sprinting from one finish line to the next. Another new build. A live fire exercise with friends and family. A mass public showcase. Now, we’re very close to launch -- the final weeks.”

Bungie conducted a number of public tests to improve the game, including an alpha test in June and an open beta in July.

Bungie even extended its alpha test, which ran June 12-16, for several hours to gain more player feedback. During that period, more than 6 million games were played with more than 149 million primary weapon kills.

During beta testing in July, Bungie said that more than 4.6 million players participated and more than 88 million games were played. Now as the countdown begins until the game’s launch, players hope the gameplay experience will reflect all the hard work Bungie put into the alpha and beta tests.

“‘Destiny’ is done, in some respects. Even now, so close to the end, it still feels like we’re just getting started,” Bungie told fans on its blog.
