An elderly man died after being pushed off a bus in Las Vegas on March 21. On Wednesday, the police released the surveillance footage of the incident.

The footage showed Cadesha Bishop, 25, pushing 74-year-old Serge Fournier off the vehicle, as the latter slowly walked toward the exit with his walker, preparing to alight from the bus at around 5 p.m. PDT (8 p.m. EDT). The suspect made no move to help out the victim after he fell on the pavement and laid there, unable to move. Although passengers who witnessed the incident gasped in shock, none of them stepped forward to assist Fournier either.

A police report, cited by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, stated the suspect pushed the victim “with enough force that he never touched any of the steps” on the bus. “His head landed approximately eight feet from the bus doorway,” it added.

Police responded to the scene and the victim was offered treatment. After declining it, Fournier drove himself to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. He died April 23. The Metropolitan Police Department ruled his death a homicide after the Clark County coroner’s office determined that Fournier died from complications of blunt force torso injuries.

According to witnesses on the bus, Bishop was being abusive toward the passengers on the bus when Fournier told her to be “nicer” to the people around her. Immediately after receiving the advice, she pushed him out of the vehicle with both hands. Since the video released by the police did not include the audio, there was no way to tell what was said by the victim to the suspect. The two were, however, seen exchanging some words just before Fournier was pushed.

The suspect was arrested May 6 and charged with open murder on an elderly-vulnerable person. She was booked into the Clark County Detention Center, Nevada, and her bond was set at $100,000.

Bishop has a history of violence, according to her Clark County records, Heavy reported. She was charged with battery in a domestic violence case in March 2012. At the time she agreed to a plea deal. The conditions of the plea required her to complete community service, undergo “impulse control counseling” and to avoid getting on the wrong side of the law in the future.

In January 2013, Bishop was charged with battery again. Over a year after the charges were filed against her, she pleaded guilty and agreed to a suspended jail sentence of 90 days, domestic violence counseling, and more community service.
