A man stabbed his girlfriend and her daughter during a fight in Hanford, California, on Tuesday.

Police responded to an apartment in East Florinda Street around 11 a.m. Tuesday after receiving emergency calls regarding a stabbing incident. The responding officers found a 35-year-old woman and her eight-year-old daughter lying on the floor with multiple stab wounds to their faces and bodies. The victims were rushed to a local hospital and were later transferred to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. The victims were in critical but stable condition and were undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, following an investigation, the victim’s boyfriend, identified as 32-year-old Alejandro Hernandez, was taken into custody.

The suspect, who was on the electric home monitoring system for a previous driving under the influence arrest, was charged with attempted murder among other charges related to the assault and was booked into Kings County Jail.

In a similar incident in the same state earlier this month, a man was charged for stabbing his girlfriend to death. Euren Balbuena stabbed his girlfriend, identified as Zaira Patino, and her mother multiple times at their apartment. The mother ran out of the apartment and alerted the passerby. The body was Patino was found inside the apartment. The mother of the victim, who was also severely injured, was treated for lacerations. The accused was charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury.
