After less than eight months of publicly dating, “Annie" actress Cameron Diaz, 42, and musician Benji Madden, 35, tied the knot Monday. The nuptials occurred at their shared home in Los Angeles, a rep for the pair told People magazine. The couple reportedly got engaged ahead of the Christmas holiday.

“We couldn’t be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends,” the couple said in a statement.

While Diaz’s marriage to the singer may seem sudden, their quick courtship isn’t so unusual in Hollywood. Here are five other celebrity couples who quickly tied the knot:

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom

A monthlong romance blossomed into a marriage for reality-TV star Khloe Kardashian and NBA athlete Lamar Odom. The now-estranged couple was rumored to have sped up their 2009 wedding in order to have E!, the network that produces the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” series, foot the bill for their nuptials. Khloe denied the accusation in a May 2010 interview with ABC News. After four years of marriage, Khloe filed for divorce in December 2013, citing irreconcilable differences.

Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting

Just months after ending her brief fling with “Man of Steel” star Henry Cavill, "The Big Bang Theory" actress Kaley Cuoco found her husband in tennis star Ryan Sweeting. The couple was set up by mutual friends in the summer of 2013 and following their first date, the duo immediately moved in together. Three months later, the couple became engaged. They wed on New Year’s Eve in 2013.

Naya Rivera and Ryan Dorsey

“Glee” actress Naya Rivera walked down the aisle with actor Ryan Dorsey in July 2013, just three months after ending her engagement to rapper Big Sean. The TV star wed Dorsey, who is known for his appearances on “Southland” and “Parks and Recreation,” in Mexico. Despite gaining some criticism for her quickie nuptials, the actress said she felt her romance with Dorsey was “fated.”

“We feel truly blessed to be joined as husband and wife,” the couple said in a joint statement. “Our special day was fated and everything we could have asked for. True love always prevails.”

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s romance was still a secret when they ventured to the Bahamas and secretly wed in April 2008. After six years and two children together, the couple announced their decision to divorce in 2014.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline

Britney Spears made the decision to propose to backup dancer Kevin Federline after three months of dating in July 2004. The couple married two months later. They documented their relationship on the reality-TV series “Britney & Kevin: Chaotic" in 2005 and welcomed two children before divorcing in 2006.
