Another remake of the classic fairytale “Cinderella” is happening. Sony Pictures announced in June that this “reimagined take” on the princess story will come to theaters on Feb. 5, 2021.

The live-action movie will star singer Camilla Cabello as Cinderella, Idina Menzel as the evil stepmother, and Billy Porter as the fairy godmother.

Menzel, who plays the Elsa, the snow queen, in Disney’s “Frozen” and “Frozen 2,” is excited to be a part of the new project.

On Thursday, the “Let It Go” singer spoke with Entertainment Tonight at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, for the “Frozen 2” premiere and revealed what intrigued her to take the upcoming role.

“I just surround myself with good projects, if I can,” Menzel said. “... [it] sort of encapsulates all the different facets of who I am as a performer. It’s just exciting.”

The musical comedy will see Cabello’s Cinderella as an ambitious young woman “whose dreams are bigger than the world will allow,” according to ET's synopsis. The Grammy winner will help create music for the new film which is produced by James Cordon, who, according to The Hollywood Reporter, came up for the idea for the reimagined story.

“Cinderella” will be directed by filmmaker Kay Cannon, who made her directorial debut with the 2018 movie “Blockers,” which starred John Cena and Leslie Mann.

Menzel started her fame on Broadway after getting a role in “Rent.” She also appeared in “Wicked” which earned her a Tony for her performance as Elphaba.

While you wait for “Cinderella,” you can watch Menzel star in “Frozen 2” coming to theaters on Nov. 22.
