Britain’s Prince Charles caused a controversy when he started to officially date former flame Camilla Parker Bowles following his split from wife Princess Diana. The affair was a major factor in their divorce and was rumored to have caused issues among the British royal family, even with his own mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

However, 13 years into the couple’s marriage, it is reported that Prince Charles’s sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, have officially forgiven their father’s second wife. According to a report from Life & Style, the mention of Camilla’s names years ago would “spark family fights,” though that is no longer the case.

“Now that Charles has gotten his father-son relationship back on track, it has given Camilla the opportunity to make amends with William and Harry,” a source shared in the magazine’s Dec. 3 print issue.

The insider added that Camilla, 71, felt “terribly” about “stealing Charles” away and recently asked for Harry and William’s forgiveness. They are said to have complied. “They have finally managed to clear the air and hug it out,” shared the source.

Though Camilla came into William and Harry’s lives when they were young, it is being reported that Camilla has noted she “will never replace Diana as a mother” but is “now being accepted into the family.” As is well-known, Diana, Princess of Wales, died one year post-divorce in 1997 when William and Harry were just 15 and 12, respectively.

So, why end their long feud now? Prince William is said to have softened up to his stepmother due to her relationships with his three children, Prince George, 5; Princess Charlotte, 3; and Prince Louis, 6 months. “[She] has impressed William with how fabulous she is with the kids.” said the source. Camilla and Charles have also been known to spoil the grandchildren by spending “a fortune” on toys.

With things on the right path for the British royal family, the group reportedly tries to together for Sunday lunch “as often as they can” to catch up, a source sharing, “Since everyone is so busy, they’ve set up a group text to make it easier to organize. But it’s a time for Camilla and Charles to join the sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren to celebrate being one big, happy family.”
