Camilla Parker Bowles reportedly helped Sarah Ferguson regain her royal standing despite the latter’s friendship with Princess Diana.

The Duchess of York was very close to the late Princess of Wales. On the other hand, it was not a secret that Princess Diana and Camilla were never close due to their rivalry because of Prince Charles.

However, according to Express, there was a time when the Duchess of Cornwall helped Ferguson. When Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice’s mom was in trouble with the palace, she found an ally in Camilla.

Back in 2016, Camilla reportedly helped Ferguson regain her royal standing after being excluded from Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding. Prince Charles’ second wife smoothened Camilla’s path to rehabilitation.

Camilla also struggled in being accepted by the royal family due to her affair with Prince Charles while he was married to Princess Diana. Also, even if the heir apparent dated her prior to the People’s Princess, the members of the royal family did not approve her for the future king.

Camilla reportedly reinstated Ferguson as patron of her late brother’s charity, the Elephant Family, after Prince Charles kicked her out.

“Camilla adored her brother and so is instinctively fond and slightly misty-eyed about anyone who helped him out, as Fergie did as patron and long-standing supporter of the charity,” a source told Daily Mail.

Journalist Catherine Ostler confirmed that Camilla reinstated Ferguson in her brother’s charity.

“When Charles and Camilla became Royal Presidents of the charity in 2014 following Shand’s death, Fergie was conspicuously dropped from the guest list of its glitzy parties. It is believed this was to please Charles, but Camilla has now personally ensured that she has been reinstated,” Ostler said.

She added that Camilla is a “peacemaker by nature.” She pointed out how Camilla won Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William and Prince Harry’s support. The duchess also befriended Kate Middleton and she has so much sympathy for Prince Andrew’s ex, Ferguson.

In related news, Ferguson and Camilla reportedly fought over Princess Diana when they encountered each other in 2018 after they visited Queen Elizabeth II in Scotland. Ferguson reportedly couldn’t hold it anymore and confronted Camilla after dinner and blamed her for all the pain she caused to Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom, Princess Diana.
