Carter Oosterhouse’s wife, Amy Smart, recently defended the HGTV host after he was accused of sexual misconduct by “Carter Can” makeup artist, Kailey Kaminsky.

On Saturday, Smart shared a photo of herself with her husband and 11-month-old daughter, Flora, on Instagram. In her lengthy caption, Smart acknowledged the fact that it’s been great hearing women come forward about their sexual abuse stories.

However, Smart reiterated that there’s a difference between someone making unwanted sexual advances at another person and having sex with someone who you dated.

Smart seconded Oosterhouse’s statement and said that his relationship with Kaminsky was official. This means that everything they did together was consensual.

“If a relationship doesn’t work out the way you want it to, then sorry, but that is the risk you take when getting intimate with another person. There are plenty of relationships I could go back and make different choices about, but it was on me to decide,” she wrote.

Kaminsky claimed that Oosterhouse coerced her into giving him oral sex while they were both on “Carter Can.” The former makeup artist also said that she thought refusing Oosterhouse’s request could affected her livelihood so she just agreed to have a sexual relationship with him.

Following Kaminsky’s shocking revelations, Oosterhouse released a statement to People saying that there’s no truth to her claims. He also said that whatever happened between them was consensual.

“It was 100 percent mutual and consensual. In no way did I ever feel, nor was it ever indicated to me, that Kailey was uncomfortable during our intimate relationship. I would have never done anything that I was not sure was mutually agreeable,” he said.

Meanwhile, Smart ended her lengthy social media post by apologizing to anyone who was affected by Kaminsky’s unfounded claims against her husband. She also encouraged the media to spot releasing salacious reports unless they are accurate.

“This type of reporting needs to stop, it’s so damaging for personal lives and careers and just not fair. Enough is enough, this is a plea to writers, outlets and media,” she wrote.
