A sensor pad at CES 2022 can detect patient vitals in a variety of clinical settings. EarlySense InSight+ is a valuable tool for a wide variety of healthcare settings.

EarlySense designed the pad to check heart rate, respiratory rate, and motion to help with early detection should there be any problems in a healthcare setting. It connects patient data passively and continuously, collecting information about patients to be integrated with other care management systems in a clinical setting.

However, the product is not solely for clinical settings. It can also keep track of patients who are recovering or otherwise need monitoring at home.

EarlySense InSight+ collects data on sleep trends, sleep stages, sleep scoring, overnight breathing patterns, heart rate, respiratory rate, and overall body movement. The pad slides under a mattress or on a chair to collect the data, which also allows it to prevent deterioration, potential falls, or pressure ulcers. There is meant to be no direct contact with the device by the patient, no adhesives, no batteries, and no special mattress or pad required for the device to work.

Aggregating data from hospital systems as a baseline, the pad uses an AI to flag any subtle shifts in baseline health that could show a problem. The intent of the pad is to detect any problems as early as possible. Like how electronic vital signs monitor works in hospitals, except this pad is much less invasive.

EarlySense found that there was a 19% lower rate of readmissions to the hospital, a 47% reduction in the number of patient falls, the number of pressure ulcers in patients was reduced by 75%, and increased nurse efficiency. The pad also works with multiple other EarlySense systems to watch patients in the least invasive way possible.

EarlySense Insight+ is also a CES 2022 Innovation Awards Honoree. The Israeli company has a U.S. office Woburn, Massachusetts. EarlySense is known for its healthcare technology that allows for ease of use and to be minimally invasive.
