It has been a year since “Black Panther” took the global box office by storm. Lead cast member Chadwick Boseman and the team of the film are celebrating the Marvel movie's anniversary. The actor recently shared a picture on social media to mark the occasion and expressed his gratitude for the success of the film.

In a post on Twitter, Boseman shared a picture of the ArcLight Multiplex in Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California. The picture showed the screens where “Black Panther” was being shown at the time.

“A year ago, today. We took over the Arclight and the rest of the world. Beyond grateful,” Boseman wrote in his post.

The official Twitter page of the film also celebrated the anniversary with a post. The "Black Panther" Twitter account requested that fans share their favorite moment from the film by replying to the post.

Although it has been a year since the release of “Black Panther,” the movie is currently playing in select theaters in the U.S. as part of Black History month. Fans can watch this film in theaters again for free till the end of this month.

“Black Panther” grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide, Box Office Mojo reported. The total domestic earnings stood at just over $700 million and the box office collection from foreign markets was over $646 million.

The plot of the film revolved around T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) stepping up to become the leader of his people and protector of the secretive and advanced kingdom of Wakanda. The leader also assumed the role of the superhero Black Panther.

A sequel to “Black Panther” has already been planned. Ryan Coogler, who directed the first film and other popular movies like “Creed,” will be back to helm the sequel and write the script. The plot and cast members of the sequel are yet to be revealed. The start of production and the release date have also not yet been announced.
