Amy Winehouse's ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil could commit suicide because of her death, his mother has said.

Georgette Fielder-Civil told the UK's Daily Star that her son must be put on suicide watch in prison. Blake and Amy Winehouse divorced in 2009 after two years of marriage. He is currently serving a 32-month-long sentence for burglary and possession of an imitation firearm.

I can't believe it. I could cry, Georgette Fielder-Civil told the paper.

Blake will kill himself. He won't make it without her, she added. He will be devastated, totally and utterly devastated. He'll go straight back to self- harming. I'll have to ring the prison and he will be put on watch. He was always ringing her and she was always ringing him. Blake always wanted her back. She couldn't walk away from him and he couldn't walk away from her. Her and Blake were both lost and we handled it badly.

Amy was found dead in her Camden home on Saturday. The cause of her death is still unknown, but friends have claimed it is because of a drugs and alcohol binge.

Police have yet to say if the singer's death is drug-related, but a post-mortem on Monday will reveal more details.
Winehouse came close to death two years ago.

Her ex-husband told of the near death experience in 2009 after a three-day binge.

Blake Fielder-Civil told The Sun, through NME that he knelt over Amy went into a seizure and stopped breathing for a while at a party at her home in Camden.

She started having a fit on the bed. She slid down on to the floor before I could stop her. She started quivering again and it suddenly grew into what seemed like a full-blown epileptic fit, Blake recalled, according to NME. I was panicking. I didn't know know how to help her. I was out of it on drugs as well - and was sobbing and crying out, 'Amy!'

I knelt over her as she kept on fitting. But then suddenly she just passed out and stopped breathing. It was the most frightening thing I had ever seen. I felt sure I was watching her die right in front of me. I didn't know what to do or how to save her. I held her to me - and I thought she was dying in my arms. But somehow I managed to open her mouth and breathe air down her throat, Blake continued.

At first nothing happened. So I did it again. I was feeling for her pulse because I thought her heart might have stopped.

Then she spluttered - and I saw her chest rise. I was still sobbing and panicking but I just felt this huge relief that she was alive.

NME reported that Blake Fielder-Civil continued to describe how Amy kept slipping in and out of consciousness and was unable to recognize him and called out for more drugs. That was before a friend called a taxi to take her to hospital, where she was placed on a drip, according to the NME report.

Amy Winehouse made it big with her 2006 album Back to Black. The songs on the album is said to describe a previous split with her ex-husband.
