Coldplay frontman Chris Martin recently talked about the reason why he gifted one of his guitars to BTS’ Jin, a move which earned praises from fans of the boyband.

On Thursday's episode of Kiddnation, host J-Si asked Martin, "You gifted your guitar to one of the BTS boys,” the British vocalist clarified. “Jin, yeah."

J-Si also asked, “Do you feel like the other guys looked at you like, ‘Aw dang, Jin got it. Like, what are we going to get now?'”

The band's singer and songwriter then revealed why the 28-year-old “Dynamite” singer is worthy of his guitar. “Well, Jin is the eldest, so the way I think that Korean culture works is that’s okay to pay extra respect to the eldest, and I think Jin is–as far as I can tell–the most into sort of guitary stuff...and we did give gifts to everybody, too,” he said.

J-Si told Martin in jest that what he did is "dangerous" because people might begin telling him, “I like your beanie, I like your car."

BTS loyalists, also known as ARMY, took to Twitter and praised the British vocalist for respecting Korean culture and for being kind to Jin.

“Well, Jin is the eldest. I’m so touched by how Chris knows how it is in Korean culture,” one user said.

Another user commented, “What an awesome guy! I continue to be impressed with Chris Martin and how much he knows about BTS- the fact that Jin is the oldest and gifting the eldest member is being respectful and he said that Jin knows how to play already, lol!”

Another fan said, “They're both fan of each other. Legend supporting legend.”

In September 2021, BTS and Coldplay released their space-themed collaboration track, “My Universe,” which is part of Coldplay’s ninth studio album, “Music Of The Spheres.” The single grabbed the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 in October of the same year and by November, the track was at No. 22 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay ranking. “My Universe” made history as the fifth highest-charting song by a K-pop act in U.S. history.

Also in the show, host Justin Chavez asked Martin what is the most inspiring gift he received from any artist. Martin replied, "The real gifts are what people say especially when you're coming up."
