In 2019, Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were accused of paying William "Rick" Singer $500,000 so that their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose, could attend the University of Southern California (USC). Subsequently, they were each charged with mail and wire fraud, honest services mail and wire fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy to commit federal programs bribery.

Now, a new accusation has surfaced that states the "Fuller House" actress, along with other defendants, have continued to withhold evidence, as stated in a joint filing.

According to the Boston Herald, the status report stated that the defendants "have not yet produced any discovery to the Government despite Government requests." Additionally, the filing stated that the defendants believe it is "premature to do so at this time," which is a stance that is in contrast to what others involved in the ongoing case believe.

As a result, the outlet states that a "possible showdown" could happen next month in federal court.

This follows Loughlin and Giannulli's argument that prosecutors had denied them a fair trial due to the fact that they believed FBI interviews with Singer were being withheld. However, prosecutors stated in the recent report that they have handed discovery over to the defendants on seven occasions since the trial began through hard drives, DVDs, and thumb drives.

Aside from the aforementioned hurdles that the "When Calls the Heart" star is facing regarding her upcoming trial, she has also reportedly been taking various steps behind the scenes in order to prepare for her future. It has been said that not only is she gearing up for her "inevitable" future, but she has also been working to avoid a specific "challenge."

At this time, Loughlin reportedly believes that she has a "secret weapon" for her trial that will prove her innocence. However, prosecutors reportedly are in possession of an email that Giannulli sent his accountant where he stated that he had to "work the system" so that Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose could attend USC.

A potential hearing to discuss the evidence could be held on Feb. 11. Additionally, a status conference is scheduled for Friday.
