Comcast outages were reported across numerous cities on the West Coast on Monday night, according to local media reports. The largest outages were seen in Seattle and San Francisco, according to crowdsources outage monitoring website downdetector.com. Comcast acknowledged the outage and said it was working to resolve the issue.

“We could say we apologize, & we do, but we know, we know, you want the Internet & we’re working it,” the company said in a post on its official Twitter account on Monday night.

The outage reportedly affected cities across the Puget Sound region, shortly after 8:30 p.m. local time. The cities affected included Seattle, San Francisco, Oakland, Santa Rosa, San Jose, Sacramento and Fremont. Comcast said that the service may be restored as late as midnight, according to the Seattle Times.

The telecom giant had announced in early May that it would revamp its customer service after being slammed by consumers. The firm often ranks at or near the bottom of consumer satisfaction surveys, and last year it was named “Worst Company in America” by Consumerist.
