The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riots subpoenaed six former Donald Trump aides Monday including former national security advisor Michael Flynn and campaign advisor Jason Miller for their role in promoting that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.

"In the days before the Jan. 6th attack, the former President's closest allies and advisors drove a campaign of misinformation about the election and planned ways to stop the count of Electoral College votes," said Select Committee chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss.

Thompson added that all six Trump allies are expected to fully cooperate and that the committee is seeking more details to avoid another possible insurrection.

Attorney John Eastman was also subpoenaed after he reportedly crafted the argument as to why then-Vice President Mike Pence should reject President Biden’s electoral college victory.

Other Trump aides facing subpoena are 2020 campaign manager William Stepien, national security advisor Angela McCallum, and former New York Police Department chief Bernard Kerik, who the committee said paid for hotel rooms that acted as command centers.

The latest round of subpoenas come as the House voted to hold former Trump aide Steve Bannon in contempt for failing to appear in court after a subpoena. The Justice Department has not yet decided whether or not to prosecute Bannon. One day prior to the insurrection, Bannon had said on his radio show that “all hell is gonna break loose.”

Five people died in the Capitol attack and hundreds were arrested. In late June, a resolution to form a House committee passed with all Democratic members and two Republican members voting in favor.
