Courteney Cox, who is now prepared to age naturally and gracefully, has opened up about the time when she didn't realize she was "looking really strange" due to cosmetic procedures.

The 57-year-old actress admitted in a recent Sunday Times interview that she previously underwent cosmetic treatments such as "injections" to fight aging.

"There was a time when you go, 'Oh, I'm changing. I'm looking older.' And I tried to chase that [youthfulness] for years," she recalled. "And I didn't realize that, oh s--t, I'm actually looking really strange with injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do now."

She went on to reveal that when she noticed people around her commenting on the way she looked, she knew she had to put an end to it. "Because people would talk about me, I think," the "Friends" star added. "But there was a period where I went, 'I've got to stop. That's just crazy.'"

Though Cox no longer gets invasive procedures done, she still puts "intense" pressure on herself to look good. "The scrutiny is intense, but I don't know if it could be more intense than what I put on myself," she said. "I'm a product wh--e. I will try anything."

The "Scream" actress also spoke about turning 60 in a few years' time. "Oh God, it's so hard to even hear or say. I can't believe it. There's nothing wrong with being 60, I just can’t believe it. Time goes so fast," she noted.

"There's no question that I am more grounded, I've learned so much in my life — what to enjoy, what to try to do more of, and what to let go of," the actress explained. "I feel like I'm young. I have a lot of friends in their thirties and I don’t think about it. To me, we're the same age until I actually study it."

It is not the first time Cox has openly discussed her goal to look more natural. In a 2017 interview, she revealed why she had her facial fillers dissolved, noting that she "learned to embrace" her real face.

"I've had all my fillers dissolved," she told New Beauty at that time. "I'm as natural as I can be. I feel better because I look like myself. I think that I now look more like the person that I was. I hope I do. Things are going to change. Everything's going to drop. I was trying to make it not drop, but that made me look fake."
