Craziest Meghan Markle Rumors Of The Year: From Twins To Royal Feuds

Meghan Markle made quite a splash in 2018. In just a few short months, she went from being the star of the TV network drama “Suits” to being the newest member of Britain’s royal family. The newfound Duchess of Sussex wed Britain’s Prince Harry in May and since that time, has found herself at the center of many rumors. Relive some of the craziest ones of the year below.

Social Climber

Earlier this month, Daily Mail columnist and TV personality Piers Morgan accused the 37-year-old Duchess of being a social climber who stopped communicating with him after getting involved with Prince Harry. “… Anyone or anything that may not give her what she wants or gets in the way of her social-climbing self-advancement gets discarded,” Morgan wrote.

“I knew her for about a year and a half. I got on really well with her and then ‘bang’ she met someone more important and immediately ghosted. I never ever heard from her again and the old slippery slope ladder had gone up and she social climbed her way out of my orbit. So, my experience wasn’t great, I’ve got to be honest with you.”

Posh Spice Dis

Woman’s Day New Zealand published a report in November claiming Meghan refused to wear fashion items sent to her by designer Victoria Beckham. The report also accused the Duchess of “actively ignoring” attempts by the former Spice Girl to be friends.

“Victoria has been trying to not take things personally, but when Meghan refused to wear the latest frock she sent her, she decided to reach out directly,” a source told the tabloid. “Harry is good friends with David Beckham, so Victoria always assumed she and Meghan would become pals too. But Posh has been left hurt and appalled by the way she thinks Meghan has treated her. She’s fuming.”

Meghan vs. Kate

After it was announced that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan would move out of Kensington Palace in favor of Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, rumors surfaced she and sister-in-law Kate Middleton were butting heads. The Sun first published a claim in November that Meghan made Kate cry during a dress fitting for her daughter Princess Charlotte prior to Meghan’s wedding.

Days later, the tabloid reported that there was another fight between Kate Meghan prior to the wedding day. Their second feud was supposedly due to Kate telling off Meghan for scolding members of her staff. Kensington Palace denied the event occurred.

I’ll Be There For You?

Royal expert Richard Kay revealed to Daily Mail this month that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are sometimes jokingly referred to as Chandler and Monica, characters portrayed by Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox on the now-defunct sitcom “Friends,” among staff members at Kensington Palace.

Smelly Demands

It was rumored that the Duchess requested air fresheners at St. George’s Chapel before her wedding to Prince Harry in an effort to rid the church of a supposed musty smell. The Daily Mail reported that she was denied her request due to the church being Queen Elizabeth II’s place of worship. Meghan’s estranged half-sister, Samantha Markle, taunted her sibling’s rumored request online.

“I heard a rumor about demands being made for scent busters or air freshener in Windsor. When sis sees the ghost of Ann Boleyn walking the tower with her head in her hands, she will demand Ghostbusters? Lol,” she wrote.

Double The Fun?

Meghan and Harry have not confirmed they are expecting twins, but that hasn’t stopped the public from guessing they will welcome more than one baby this spring. At least one betting company had to stop taking bets on the couple’s pregnancy due to a sudden surge in bets they will have multiples. Interestingly enough, Life & Style Magazine reported that the Duchess has been overheard referring to her bump as “them.”

Breaking Tradition

Despite the tradition of royals delivering their babies at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London, Meghan was said to be breaking away from tradition for her first child. Grazia, via Life & Style Magazine, recently reported Meghan was advocating for an unmedicated home birth.

“Meghan doesn’t want what she calls a ‘medicalized’ birth, and instead wants to have a pool set up in a relaxing environment,” shared a source. “Even Harry found this surprising, but Megs wants to ensure her birth is as natural as possible.”
