Keanu Reeves recently surprised fans when he appeared onstage for the “Cyberpunk 2077” reveal at Microsoft's E3 2019 presser. The actor revealed that a character in his likeness will appear in CD Projekt Red’s upcoming open world game. The game is also set to have an early 2020 release.

As seen on the Microsoft E3 stream, CD Projekt Red dropped a trailer featuring the male main character delivering the chip to his client. Soon after, the character gets into a brawl with his client over dissatisfaction with his work and finds himself dumped in a junkyard. He is then woken up by a character with a metal left arm and resembles Reeves.

After the trailer reveal, Reeves greeted the crowd during the “Cyberpunk 2077” part of the press conference. Fans loved his quick introduction into the game and were ecstatic to hear that he is confirmed to be working with CD Projekt Red for “Cyberpunk 2077.”

The Hollywood Reporter noted that the actor’s character in “Cyberpunk 2077” is named Mr. Fusion. So far, Mr Fusion is interested in seeing Night City burn. We’ve yet to know if Reeves’ character will truly be a force of good or evil. However, the official Xbox Twitter post confirming his role cannot be accessed anymore at the moment.

Aside from his Mr. Fusion role, Reeves may also potentially be Johnny Silverhand, a rock star figure in the “Cyberpunk 2077” world who is also a revolutionary figure against Night City’s authority. As seen in the video, Reeves’ character has a metallic silver left arm when he wakes them up. Johnny Silverhand is also seen among the character’s choices for childhood heroes.

As the characters are based on the “Cyberpunk 2020” board game, Johnny Silverhand is also a tank top-wearing rock star with a cybernetic arm. While we’ve yet to see Reeves’ character play a guitar, another clue also gives away his character. The logo on the shirt underneath his suit is reminiscent of the logo of Samurai, Silverhand’s rock band of which he is the lead vocalist.

CD Projekt Red’s “Cyberpunk 2077” is slated for release on April 16, 2020. The game is currently among the few ones with a definite 2020 release date.
