Days of Our Lives
John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) discover what really happened the night of their almost-wedding on the Oct. 9, 2018 episode of “Days of Our Lives.” XJ Johnson/JPI Studios for NBC

She finally woke up from a coma and revealed the startling information that there had been a second shooter at her wedding. Following confirmation that the bullet which found Marlena had in fact not come from the gun Sami was holding, she and John will receive the answers they’ve been searching for on the Tuesday, Oct. 9 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

After Marlena (Deidre Hall) revealed she saw a second gun at the wedding and believed that it was the one that had shot her, it was quickly confirmed that Sami (Alison Sweeney) had not been the one responsible for what happened on the NBC soap. Since then, she and John (Drake Hogestyn) have been seeking answers so they could find out who tried to kill her, and if they were working with Kristen (Stacy Haiduk). John got security footage from the town square, and he, Marlena and Sami have all watched it together—and now have the identity of the other person.

“Days of Our Lives” spoilers for later this week tease that Xander (Paul Telfer) has a surprising new partner in crime, which could mean he was the one at the wedding, and that he is working with Kristen. What will be hard for Marlena and John to understand is why he seems to be doing so, and why he would have aimed a gun at them.

However, if Xander is the person they see on the video, there may have been someone else he was aiming for—and he may not have been working with Kristen at all. Though he currently is not in Salem, having stumbled in on Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker), he may have been there attempting to go after someone else—like Eric, who was caught up with Sami at the time, trying to wrestle the gun away from her.

As they continue their search for answers, John and Marlena may wind up unraveling some big mysteries, as alliances, schemes and reveals all continue to implode in their lives—and everyone else’s in Salem.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
