She was in labor and headed to the hospital with Adrienne so she could give birth. Now, after tragedy struck on their way there, Xander may find himself forced to make a rash decision in order to guarantee he gets what he actually wants in his future on the Tuesday, Jan. 22 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

As Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) headed with Adrienne (Judi Evans) to the hospital to give birth, she decided to have Xander (Paul Telfer) with her after all on the NBC soap, and she called him to get him to meet her. Immediately after though, tragedy struck as she and Adrienne were driving and a car swerved into their lane—pushing them off the road and getting them into an accident. Now, as their fates hang in the balance, Xander will arrive on the scene to help Sarah with the baby—the same one that he has been pretending to be the father of.

“Xander helps Sarah deliver her baby,” spoilers reveal.

However, if the situation gets even more precarious, then it could be a problem for Xander, who wants nothing more than to be with Sarah, and may feel desperate to do anything possible if it allows him to have what he desires.

Meanwhile, the accident will also, of course, have other heartbreaking results. As fans know, one year in the future, Adrienne died in the accident, and Will (Chandler Massey) went to jail because it is believed he caused it. Now, the moment Justin (Wally Kurth) learned of his wife’s fate will be revealed, and it will be heartbreaking for everyone.

“Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) relays heartbreaking news to Justin,” spoilers state.

Learning that Adrienne is gone and didn’t survive is going to be a devastating blow, but it will also just be another part of an entire plot that is being acted out in the future, as everything in Salem now seems to stem back from that specific Mother’s Day night.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
