KEY POINTS

  • Prophecy dungeon bosses can be farmed any number of times per week
  • Each boss has a specific loot table
  • Swords and fusion rifles are highly recommended for the current season's meta

The Prophecy dungeon is the home to some interesting weapons and fancy armor pieces that “Destiny 2” players can add to their collections. Compared to other PvE content, this dungeon is a little more complicated than the typical Strike but less difficult than full-blown raids.

That being said, players will need to put in some effort if they want to grind for the reprised Trials of the Nine weapons and either the CODA or Moonfang armor sets. However, there are some ways to help make this grind a bit more tolerable.

Here are a few tips and recommendations on how to farm the Prophecy dungeon as efficiently as possible in “Destiny 2.”

Checkpoint Saving

One of the most helpful techniques players can use when farming for loot in this dungeon is saving checkpoints between characters.

At the beginning of every new area or boss encounter, players are automatically granted a checkpoint that they can return to when the fireteam wipes or when they return to orbit. This can be abused to grant players access to the same encounter multiple times without having to go through everything else.

To do this at a boss fight, for example, have the team wipe to save the checkpoint on the current character. Next, switch to a different character, rejoin the fireteam, then wipe the team again to save the checkpoint on the new character.

Loot Drop Locations

Prophecy loot is distributed between the three major boss fights in the dungeon, which means that certain items will only drop from specific bosses or post-boss chests. Here’s what items drop from where:

  • Phalanx Echo: Judgment, The Long Walk
  • The Hexahedron: Last Breath, Swift Verdict
  • Kell Echo: Sudden Death, Darkest Before

There’s also a chance of getting a random armor piece after every boss encounter.

Recommended Weapons And Team Compositions

For the Phalanx Echo boss fight, a sword such as The Lament or the Falling Guillotine is highly recommended, as even one player with a sword can defeat the boss in a single damage phase. As for the Kell Echo, any linear fusion rifle with the Season 15 Particle Deconstruction mod should suffice. The boss at the end of the Hexahedron can be beaten very easily.

For team compositions, the most optimal would be a Ward of Dawn Titan, a Well of Radiance Warlock and a Silence and Squall Hunter.

Ward of Dawn can be replaced with a bottom-tree Strike, while Well of Radiance and Silence and Squall can be replaced with Daybreak or Nova Bomb and Shadowshot, respectively.
