KEY POINTS

  • The Forerunner is a new exotic sidearm that is based on the old M6D Magnum
  • The BxR-55 mimics the classic "Halo 2" battle rifle in terms of playstyle
  • Classic weapons drop from the Dares of Eternity activity

In celebration of Bungie’s 30th anniversary, the developer released a big mid-season content drop for “Destiny 2” that features a few iconic weapons from the company’s previous titles. This includes a few throwbacks to the “Halo” series, which was originally developed by Bungie before the franchise was handed over to 343 Industries.

Unlike the Gjallarhorn, the Eyasluna and the 1000 Yard Stare, players won’t need to purchase the Anniversary Pack to obtain the “Halo” weapons. However, players will still need to put in some time and effort if they want to get perfect rolls for all of these new weapons. Here’s how to get them.

Where to get “Halo” Magnum in “Destiny 2”

“Halo Combat Evolved’s” iconic M6D Magnum, now called The Forerunner, is now officially a part of “Destiny 2” as of the Anniversary Pack update. This oversized pistol is now the game’s first 200 RPM full-auto sidearm with a special perk that lets players throw “Halo”-style frag grenades once the catalyst is obtained.

To get the Forerunner, players need to finish a short six-step exotic quest from Xur in the new Treasure Hoard location after finishing a round of Dares of Eternity. The quest is rather straightforward, so just follow all of the steps and claim the gun from Banshee at the Tower.

Where to get the “Halo” Battle Rifle and Energy Sword in “Destiny 2”

The new sword and pulse rifle are much easier to obtain, as players only need to finish the Dares of Eternity activity. Opening the end-reward chest may give players either the BxR-55 Battler or the Half-Truths sword as well as a few other weapons and armor options.

These weapons can also be obtained by opening the chest in front of Xur at the Treasure Hoard.

The BxR-55 Battler may seem like a Redrix Broadsword at first glance, but this 450 RPM pulse rifle harkens back to the days of “Halo 2” when the BR55 was first introduced. This gun features a scope and an ammo display that mimics the design of the BR55 as well as a unique Legacy PR-55 Frame that greatly increases the gun’s stats while hip-firing.

Meanwhile, the Half-Truths sword functions exactly like any other Adaptive Frame sword except it can roll with Duelist’s Trance and Eager Edge. Another energy sword called The Other Half also exists, but its drop location is currently unknown.
