KEY POINTS

  • The Osteo Striga fires tracking projectiles that cause targets to explode
  • This weapon can be crafted at the Relic after finishing the main campaign
  • Only deluxe edition owners can get this weapon in the game so far

The new expansion comes chock-full with fresh content, including a load of new gear and some interesting exotic weapons for players to fiddle with.

The Osteo Striga is one of these new exotics, and it can be devastating in the right hands, though getting it can be a bit of a hassle. There won’t be any fancy quests for this one like Presage or Harbinger, but claiming this SMG is special in its own right. Here’s how to get it.

Where to Get The Osteo Striga

There’s a bit of confusion with how to obtain this gun. On “The Witch Queen Deluxe Edition’s” Steam page, the text says that an exotic SMG is included when players purchase the pack. This isn’t entirely true because the Osteo Striga will not be automatically given to the player after getting the deluxe version of the expansion.

Instead, the weapon will be given for free after finishing the main “Witch Queen” campaign. Players will have to go through all 19 quest steps before they can obtain the Osteo Striga.

Those who didn’t buy the deluxe edition will have to wait for future seasons and go through a few extra hoops to get their own Striga. This gun is one of the first few exotic weapons that players have to craft. It doesn’t just drop randomly, nor is it rewarded from a unique quest.

Again, players who did not buy the deluxe edition won’t have access to the Osteo Striga until the later seasons. This was also the case with the No Time To Explain pulse rifle from “Beyond Light.”

After finishing the main campaign, head to the Relic with the following materials to craft the gun:

  • 7x Resonant Alloy
  • 1x Ascendant Alloy
  • 2,375x Neutral Element
  • 70x Ruinous Element
  • 15,000x Glimmer

As previously mentioned by Bungie in one of their past TWABs, players will be able to tweak certain exotic gear to their liking. So far, only the Osteo Striga and the three class-specific glaives are the known craftable exotics in the game.
