President Donald Trump was reportedly scared to face his wife Melania Trump when the “Access Hollywood” tape leaked.

A new book about the First Lady entitled “The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump” by Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post reporter Mary Jordan is coming out on Tuesday (June 16). Days before its release, Jordan shared an excerpt from the book.

CBS News also shared the excerpt about Jordan recounting Melania’s reaction to the POTUS’ infamous “Access Hollywood” tape, which featured Trump and Billy Bush having a lewd exchange on NBC Studios lot.

During their conversation, Trump confessed that he had a sexual encounter with a married woman. The president also shared that he is attracted to beautiful ladies and he tends to start kissing them. He added that when “you’re a star, they let you do it” and you can “grab ‘em by the p—y.”

New Jersey governor Chris Christie recalled that the video’s date stamp was September 2005. At the time, Trump was already married to Melania and she was nearly three months pregnant.

Christie told Jordan that Trump was visibly not comfortable after seeing the video. Trump was dreading to face Melania and was so embarrassed.

“He turned red; red was coming up his neck to his ears. I think he understood early on that it was going to create ramifications for him at home, too,” one person said.

Trump’s team knew that if Melania would walk out, his campaign would be over. If the FLOTUS couldn’t tolerate her husband’s misbehavior, then the female voters would likely do the same.

“Everybody was saying, 'You should go upstairs and see Melania. Why don't you go upstairs now and see Melania?' And he was not rushing to go up there,” Christie told Jordan.

“I said to him, 'It ain't going to get any easier. The longer you wait, it's not going to get any easier.'”

“That night he seemed frightened to go face his wife,” another person in the room told Jordan. It reportedly took Trump two hours to step into the elevator to see Melania.

Surprisingly, Melania was in control. She never yelled or threw lamps at Trump. She was furious, but she showed her fury quietly and deliberately.

“Now you could lose,” Melania told her husband.

“You could have blown this for us.”

Melania was one of the few people who had been very confident that Trump would win the election. But during their encounter, she told Trump that he had jeopardized their chance at the White House.

Trump apologized to her and said it didn’t mean anything. Melania left Trump and went to her room.

Despite the scandal, Trump won the election. Also, Trump and Melania are still married.

However, Omarosa Manigault Newman claimed in her book “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House” in 2018 that Melania was planning to divorce Trump once they left the White House. However, the FLOTUS’ spokesperson denied it.
