  • "Doom Eternal" reveals two never-before-seen locales that will be included in its upcoming campaign DLC
  • The said campaign DLC, however, has no official release date yet
  • Aside from the DLC, "Doom Eterna" will also be rolling out a major update soon

“Doom Eternal” is getting its first major downloadable content this 2020, and id Software and Bethesda just teased fans of what’s to come.

On the Steam listing of the DLC – which includes a Year One Pass for $29.99 – the game developer and publisher posted two screenshots from the upcoming campaign DLC. While there is no information provided about the screenshots that show two environmental arts, it suggests that the campaign will feature multiple locales.

The Steam description also gave as much, noting that there will be “never-before-seen realms” in the upcoming content.

“Your victory over Hell’s armies pulled humanity back from the edge of extinction, but it came at a cost. An imbalance of power in the heavens requires the true ruler of this universe to rise and set things right. Wage war across never-before-seen realms of the DOOM Universe, fight against new demons, and wield new abilities in your never-ending battle against the forces of evil,” the Steam listing read.

Interestingly though, the two screenshots were enough to hype fans, including popular YouTuber Jacksepticeye who commended the second photo of what appears to be some sort of an oil rig.

There are no further details about the campaign DLC and what it will tackle, but fans can expect id software and Bethesda to spice things up for their fan base. After all, if their Update 1 is any indication, the first DLC could be loaded with amazing content.

In the aforementioned Update 1 which Bethesda posted recently, it was revealed that “Doom Eternal” will get a slew of new features such as “Empowered Demons” and “BATTLEMODE Enhancements.”

In “Empowered Demons,” players who killed an empowered demon will be rewarded with “tons of health and ammo,” as well as “bonus XP to progress in-game events.” However, here’s where the wild card comes in: if a player is killed by the said creature, the monster will be transported to another player’s game with upgraded stats.

Meanwhile, for “BATTLEMODE Enhancements,” id Software will be implementing Denuvo Anticheat protection, improved and updated tutorial, Echelon Leveling for players who have reached the max level, and a Death Report screen that will give players more combat insight during matches.

“Doom Eternal” was released last March 20 and has been a rousing success ever since. It is playable on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Stadia. Its campaign DLC has no official release date yet, but it is schedule to be released this 2020.
