President Donald Trump trails Democratic nominee Joe Biden in electoral college votes, according to data from the New York Times and the Associated Press.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Biden has won 253 electoral votes, while Trump is at 214. The winner will need to win 270 votes to capture the White House. There are 71 electoral votes still outstanding.

Biden on Wednesday afternoon was declared the winner in Wisconsin and Michigan, which have a total of 26 electoral votes. He also won a key electoral vote from Nebraska’s 2nd district.

As of Wednesday at 5:05 p.m. ET, there is no declared winner for Georgia (16 electoral votes), Pennsylvania (20 electoral votes), North Carolina (15 electoral votes) and Alaska (3 electoral votes). Alaska is expected to go to Trump.

Biden currently has leads in Nevada (6 electoral votes) and Arizona (11 electoral votes).

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace noted Biden's path to victory.

“It’s real simple math now. Six votes in Nevada, 16 votes in Michigan, and he reaches precisely the magic number,” Wallace said about the Wisconsin pickup and before Michigan was announced for Biden.

Fox News reported Tuesday night that Biden won Arizona, though the state has not officially given him the victory.

The Trump campaign has called for a recount in Wisconsin and filed lawsuits in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Trump prematurely and falsely declared victory early Wednesday morning. He has won several key swing states, including Ohio, Florida and Texas.
