Emma Stone is one of the few Hollywood celebrities who has been quite vocal about the mental health struggles that she went through during her childhood days. At present, the whole world is dealing with an enemy that cannot be seen, and Stone believes that keeping a check on everyone’s mental health is very important.

While making an appearance in a video uploaded by Child Mind Institute, the 31-year-old actress explained how the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic can make lives difficult for the people with mental health issues. She then shared how she manages to stay calm and composed amid the current lockdown.

The “La La Land” actress also talked about the young people battling mental healthy issues during the current crisis. Stone noted that close to 17 million youngsters are dealing with anxiety and uncertainty in the wake of the pandemic.

“Many of us are dealing with isolation, anxiety, and uncertainty during the COVID-19 crisis, and this includes the 17 million kids and teens in America – that is one in five – who have a mental health disorder. Something I really like to do when I am struggling with anxiety is a brain dump. What I do is just write down anything that I am worried about,” Stone said.

The Academy Award-winning actress believes that it is really important for everyone to just let it out and do whatever makes them feel calm. She said writing makes her feel “hopeful.”

“I just write and write and write and I do not read it back. I find it is really, really helpful for me to get it all out on paper. I hope you are staying safe, you are staying strong and healthy and I am sending you lots of love,” Stone finally said.

This wasn’t the first time for Stone to publicly talk about her mental health. In 2018, while appearing on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” she revealed that she has been receiving therapy since she was 7.

The actress was asked by the host to elaborate on the meaning behind a picture she had drawn when she was 9.

“I drew this in therapy. I was a very, very anxious child, and I had a lot of panic attacks. I benefited in a big way from therapy. I started at 7,” Stone said at the time.

Meanwhile, Stone will be next seen in Craig Gillespie’s “Cruella.” The movie is based on the fictional character created by Dodie Smith. She was the antagonist in the novel “The Hundred And One Dalmations.”

Stone will be portraying Cruella de Vil while Emma Thompson, Mark Strong, and Joel Fry will be seen playing pivotal roles in the film.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters in 2021.
