For the second consecutive year, the Emmy Awards hit an all-time low in its ratings.

According to Variety, the telecast of television’s biggest night pulled in 6.9 million viewers, which is almost 33 percent less than what last year’s Emmy ceremony had. In 2018, a total of 10.1 million viewers watched the star-studded night which was the previous low for the awards show. The broadcast averaged just 1.6 among adults 18-49, down 33 percent from 2.4 in the previous year.

The numbers for the Emmys have been declining since 2015. That year, a total of 11.9 million watched the ceremony while it came nominally down to 11.4 million in 2016 and 2017, respectively. The viewership saw a major drop in 2018, but then it had a more disappointing decline this year.

The slide for the star-studded show has been the biggest decline among the major televised awards shows. The Academy Awards broadcast saw a jump of 10 percent in viewership this year while the Golden Globes and the Grammys have proven to remain steady year after year.

Meanwhile, “Game Of Thrones” and “Fleabag” came out as the biggest winners at the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards.
