Mia Khalifa has been very active on social media lately especially after the Beirut explosion, but in her recent videos she admitted that she had to decompress and unplug from watching too much news.

The ex-porn star recently shared several videos in her Instagram Stories in which she talked about Lebanon and mental health. She encouraged the people to look after their mental well-being and shared how privileged she is to have the chance to decompress.

"Good morning! a little two-in-one reminder today,” Khalifa said in the first video.

“Number one, Lebanon needs to be talked about. Lebanon still needs our help. Lebanon is still suffering. Number two, take care of your mental health.”

Khalifa went on and shared what she did the other day for her mental wellness.

“Yesterday, I felt very privileged because I needed to decompress, I needed to not be taking in as much news as normally am and not be as plug in for the sake of my sanity,” she continued.

“And that is an extraordinary privilege because there are 300,000 people that do not get to do that right now. There are people who are suffering and hurting and struggling in Kenosha who need our attention and our help.”

Khalifa could be referring to the protests in Kenosha over the police shooting of a Black man named Jacob Blake months after George Floyd's death. On Tuesday, two people were shot to death during the third night of the protests.

“The world is not okay and it is a privilege to be able to unplug from that,” Khalifa concluded.

Khalifa has been sharing various posts in her Instagram Stories about mental health. Just recently, she shared DLC Anxiety’s post that features a chart, which teaches people how deal with anxiety. Earlier this month she also made another post sharing with her followers how she personally deals with anxiety, and it’s by rewatching things constantly.

The former adult entertainer admitted that she had a tough time after her short stint in the porn industry. She was only part of it for three months, but the people still criticize her for it. It even came to a point when she had to turn off the comments section of her Instagram account because the intense backlash was already affecting her mental health.
