  • The new "Locked and Loaded" update for “Fallout 76” will introduce more quality of life features to improve gameplay
  • More CAMP slots and a new Special Loadout and respec system will be coming to the game
  • The update is slated to release on April 27

Bethesda has recently revealed more details about the newest update for “Fallout 76,” dubbed “Locked and Loaded,” which features a list of changes as well as a number of exciting new additions.

Fallout 76” is constantly getting better and better, slowly shedding off its murky past filled with game-breaking bugs, lackluster gameplay and questionable business practices. The previous “Wastelanders” update added NPCs to the game, which was a major leap in the right direction.

The new “Locked and Loaded” update will bring more features to “Fallout 76” that are aimed toward improving the overall gameplay experience. Players can try out an early version of the update via the Public Test Server, according to Game Rant.

The game’s developers further talked about the update in a feature video shared below.

The first major addition is the expansion of available CAMP slots. A CAMP (short for Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform) allows “Fallout 76” players to create bases out in the open world to serve as workshops, storage drop-off points and fast travel stations.

“Locked and Loaded” will increase the number of CAMP slots per player to encourage exploration. More CAMPs mean more fast travel points and more storage depots, so players can freely loot to their heart’s desires.

However, only one CAMP per player may be active at a time to prevent technical problems, as per Don Etgeton, the game’s lead user experience designer.

Placeable display cases were also added to Shelters, and Vending Machines have received changes to make pricing items across all machines easier to manage.

The second big change that’s coming with “Locked and Loaded” is the addition of Special Loadouts. These will allow players to quickly swap between Special builds. This was added to encourage players to try out more than one playstyle, keeping the game experience fresh and varied.

The old Move a Point system will be replaced by Punch Card Machines, which are free to use. “Fallout 76” players will be able to respec their Special and Perk points free of charge and swap their loadouts as many times as they want.

“Fallout 76: Locked And Loaded” is set to release on April 27 for the PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
