Fetty Wap was involved in a shooting incident early Sunday in Paterson, New Jersey, that erupted after an argument outside an all-night deli. According to local reports, several shots were fired and three people were injured.

The “Trap Queen” rapper, whose legal name is Willie Maxwell, was unharmed in the incident. While local police confirmed Fetty Wap and several of his friends were involved in the shooting, they also said the hip-hop star and his friends were not suspects.

Authorities did not give out details about the dispute, but TMZ reported, citing "sources close to the situation," that the rapper was robbed of his chain and cash.

A 34-year-old man and a 37-year-old man had received gunshot wounds and were being treated at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. A third victim, aged 33, was admitted to the Hackensack University Medical Center with a gunshot wound.

Law enforcement officials told TMZ that an investigation was underway into the incident, but no report of robbery had been filed with the police.

Fetty Wap did not respond to the incident directly but wrote multiple posts Sunday on Twitter.

"Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light," he wrote, later adding, "Nothing is certain, everything is possible" and, "Overthinking leads to negative thoughts!!"

Earlier this year, Fetty Wap was involved in another controversy when an alleged sex tape featuring the rapper and his ex-girlfriend Alexis Skyy leaked online. According to TMZ, Fetty Wap threatened to file a lawsuit over distribution of the alleged sex tape. The rapper reportedly claimed the tape was leaked by Skyy, who is an Instagram model and gained fame after she started dating Fetty Wap in 2015.

"[Y]ou must immediately stop the distribution and/or attempted distribution of this alleged video to any and all media outlets," the cease and desist letters obtained by TMZ read.
