There are just some shows you know are going to be good before they even premiere — “Feud: Charles and Diana” is one of them. While Season 1 of the FX limited series plays out, fans are anxiously waiting for the second season, which will focus on the tumultuous relationship between Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

Many have been buzzing about casting for the show, predicting which stars creator Ryan Murphy may call in to play members of the royal family. No official word has been handed down yet, but even potential star Sarah Paulson is thinking about it. During a PaleyFest appearance, she opened up about her dream “Feud” Season 2 role, admitting she probably won’t get it.

“I wanna play the Queen Mother!” she said (via ET Online). “I don’t think [Murphy’s] gonna let me do that. That might be a bridge too far. He might also be like, ‘Oh, lady…no!’ I could play one of the corgis.”

All hope is not lost though. Paulson, 42, appeared on the PaleyFest panel with “American Horror Story” Season 6 co-star Kathy Bates, who referred to her as “the people’s princess.” Some took this as a sign that Paulson had been cast as Princess Diana in the show.

Very little is known about Season 2 of “Feud” at this time. The network confirmed the show had been renewed for a second season on Feb. 28, days before the Season 1 premiere. Next season will have a 10-episode run which will premiere in 2018.

Murphy’s been quiet about what fans should expect from the show. He has, however, celebrated the success of Season 1 on Twitter. On March 10 he shared an article stating “Feud” drew the largest TV audience for a new series since “American Crime Story: The People v O.J. Simpson.”
