Although her bandmate Lauren Jauregui was caught with marijuana in an airport Tuesday night, Camila Cabello decided to put energy into bringing awareness to a more serious issue.

The Fifth Harmony singer turned her focus to Aleppo on Wednesday, the city in Syria which is in the middle of a civil war. Syrian and Russian forces are fighting for control of the eastern districts of Aleppo and the star decided to tweet out her Instagram post about the city featuring photos of citizens in distress.

The image was a collage featuring several children looking scared and crying. Another photo showed destroyed buildings and people walking in the streets filled with smoke from explosions.

Attached to the photo was a quote from poet Warsan Shire. “Later that night I held an atlas in my lapran my fingers across the world and whispered ‘where does it hurt?’ it answered ‘everywhereeverywhereeverywhere,’” the caption read.

The photo comes after Cabello retweeted a post from Save the Children US. “We’re desperately worried for those trapped in #Aleppo. Please help the innocent children caught in this warzone,” the tweet read.

Cabello did not address Jauregui’s troubles with authorities. The singer was given a citation in Washington D.C. while trying to board a flight to Brazil where the group is scheduled to perform Wednesday night, TMZ reported. TSA is said to have spotted marijuana in the singer’s carry-on bag and called police officers to the terminal where the 20-year-old singer was issued a citation.

The singer’s lawyer said that her client was “simply given a citation for possession of marijuana and released on her own recognizance.” The attorney added that the citation will not affect upcoming performances or projects.
