Teddy Sears would like to return to “The Flash.”

“It would be a lot of fun to drop back into that world,” Sears told TV Guide when asked if he would like to come back to the CW series. But because Sears is now a series regular in the upcoming FOX series “24 Legacy,” the 39-year-old actor thinks that it would be a little complicated if the Grant Gustin-led show invites him back to guest star.

“It’s funny — now I belong to FOX … there are lots of people that would have to give thumbs up [before that can happen]. But I really hope so,” Sears said.

Sears played Zoom, a.k.a. Hunter Zolomon, in Season 2 of “The Flash.” After Barry (Gustin) defeated him in the season finale, Zoom was transformed by Time Wraiths into Black Flash, so there’s great chance that fans will see him again.

“Black Flash … has quite a place in the mythology of ‘The Flash.’ He's like the grim reaper for speedsters,” Sears told TV Guide. “Andrew Kreisberg, the head writer and EP (executive producer), has talked about their interest in having a Black Flash return at some point in the series.”

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly last August, Kreisberg said that turning Zoom into Black Flash instead of completely killing him off was a deliberate choice.

“We did that on purpose,” the exec producer said. “We love working with Teddy. He’s such an amazing actor and amazing person, and was so much a part of the success of this show last season. There aren’t any immediate plans for that, but you can’t keep a good Black Flash down, so I’m sure we’ll be seeing him in the future.”

“The Flash” is currently on its midseason hiatus. Its next episode (Season 3, Episode 10), titled “Borrowing Problems from the Future,” airs on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.

Meanwhile, “24 Legacy” premieres on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, serving as the lead-out program for “Super Bowl LI” on FOX. It will later move to its regular time slot of Mondays at 8 p.m., starting on Feb. 6.
